There was only one walk last weekend – it was an intermediate walk to the Silvermines, led by Martin Matthews.

It was a clear day, with fantastic views of Keeper Hill and the surrounding countryside. 20 walkers took part in this 3 ½ hour walk with the climb up the first hill proving difficult for some. Well done, in particular, to Dolores – our new member. This weekend, the short walkers head to Glenbarrow, led by Pay Moloughney while the long walkers will be led by Mick Fogarty – route to be advised. The Tuesday walks continue – meet in Damer Court carpark at 7pm every Tuesday. These walks will be near town and will only take an hour to an hour and a half. For anyone considering taking up hill walking, these walks are a great way to start.

Remember, new members must do 2-3 short walks before going on an intermediate or long walk. The website is now completed – why not have a look? More photos have been uploaded on our Facebook page – if you want a look, log on to www.roscrearamblers.com for full details of activities or catch us
