SPECSAVERS Nenagh is delighted to be supporting Relay for Life, a 24-hour walking relay that takes place around the globe, raising funds in support of the fight against cancer.

Relay for Life, in association with the Irish Cancer Socity, gives communities a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember lost loved ones, and fight back against the disease. It is an overnight community celebration, a unique and empowering fun event.

The event will take place in Toomevarra GAA grounds on August 25 / 26th from 5pm. The Relay for Life begins with a cancer suvivors’ lap of honour followed by teams of people who will take turns in walking around the track for 24 hours.

Specsavers Nenagh will be helping to support the Candle of Hope ceremony which is at the heart of the event. The candle of hope is where the candles are placed around the track and lit as evening approaches, each candle representing a loved one.

Specsavers Nenagh will be distributing the candles of hope in- store for €5, with all monies going towards the charity. Specsavers will also be donating all funds generated from repairs to glasses to the Relay for Life cause.
