Shiloh - the gentle Lurcher. His name means tranquil, peaceful and he is a friendly boy with a lovely nature. He has beautiful amber eyes; his photo does not do him justice.
Shiloh has a lovely laid-back nature and is looking for a place to call home. He is very good with other dogs but is not suitable to live with cats. He has been in the rescue centre for some time now and would really like to live in a home with people who will love and care for him. He will reward you with his loyalty, companionship and gentle ways. He has had such a bad start in his life, unwanted and unloved; he was thrown out of a van and discarded like a piece of rubbish. Rescued lurchers make wonderful pets. They truly want to please.
Lurchers are part of the sight hound family, which includes borzois, afghan hounds, whippets and many more. These hounds have excellent vision. As pets they are naturally loving and gentle. They respond well to kindness and patience and will try hard to please you. Most rescued lurchers have not lived indoors before and will be surrounded by strange and unfamiliar objects when you bring them home. Many have never encountered stairs before and will be able to climb upstairs but may need encouragement and support to get back down again! With praise, reward and patience Shiloh will learn surprisingly quickly what is expected of him so that he may become one of the family.
