Thurles has a new Town Councillor following the formal co-option of Councillor Gerard Fogarty to the local authority in place of resigned Cllr Gerard O’Brien who vacated the seat in order to take up the position as State Solicitor for Tipperary.

Thurles has a new Town Councillor following the formal co-option of Councillor Gerard Fogarty to the local authority in place of resigned Cllr Gerard O’Brien who vacated the seat in order to take up the position as State Solicitor for Tipperary.

The position was in the gift of the Fianna Fail party and having been given the nod by the party at a selection convention, Cllr Fogarty then went forward to the monthly meeting of the council for co-option.
