Tipperary County Council hopes to conclude negotiations with landowners shortly before starting work on Knockalton Hill, Nenagh councillors have been told.

District manager Marcus O’Connor said that the work will consist of widening the road to seven metres along a 1.3km stretch. The council received two submissions on the plan, one, he said which just told them to “get on with it”, and the other asked about accommodating the work.

Cllr Hughie McGrath said people would be “delighted” to see the work done on what was a “tight stretch” of road.

Cllr John Carroll agreed it was important to get the work done.
