Ursuline Thurles - Innovators Hurling Up a Storm

The Ursuline Secondary School in Thurles is very excited about two innovative projects devised by second and Transition Year students which are going forward to the National Enterprise finals in Croke Park in April.

The Ursuline Secondary School in Thurles is very excited about two innovative projects devised by second and Transition Year students which are going forward to the National Enterprise finals in Croke Park in April.

Race to Base - a boardgame designed as a resource tool for the new Project Maths module; and the Caman Indoor Hurley Sock - a simple, yet brilliant item which transforms any hurley into an indoor one, are both creating ripples of excitement in the school as well as within the North Tipperary Enterprise Board - the body which hosted the county competition and has been providing mentoring to the ten girls involved - two teams of five.

Sandra Rossiter, a Business teacher in the school, has been working with the two teams to help them through the very tricky process of sourcing materials, manufacturing and establishing a business network from which to retail their work.
