Longest serving member of Cashel Lions Club, Seamus J. King, was presented with a major award last week.
He received the Melvin Jones Fellowship award from
District Governor Pat O’Brien, who was on a visit to the club. The Award is named after Melvin Jones, the founder of Lions Club International, and it is presented to members for exceptional service to
Lionism, especially in the area of humanitarian service. Seamus has been a member of Cashel Lions Club since 1968 and continues to be involved in all club activities. One of his major contributions is the production of a two-page, monthly information bulletin to the members, which he has been sending out since 1976. As a result of this award his name will be inscribed on a special list in the Lions International Headquarters in Oakville, Chicago, Illinois, USA.
