The road to the NCT test centre is so bad motorists should not be asked to drive along it, acording to Cllr Seamus Morris.

He told Nenagh Municipal District Council that the road through Lisbunny Industrial Estate was full of potholes and the area was littered.

“There are 13 lights out of action along that road. There are horses on the road. It is unsafe for use,” he said.

The SF councillor also pointed out that the indoor sports centre at the end of the estate had hosted a ladies’ soccer tournament recently with women having to walk the road in the dark.

He called on the council to get in touch with Shannon Development to press them on the need to improve conditions at the industrial estate.

“I am sure the people down there ar paying rates to the council,” he pointed out.

Cllr Morris was supported by Cllr John Carroll and Cllr Mattie Ryan.

District administrator Rosemary Joyce said the council will follow up the concerns.
