The pool in Thurles has been closed for many months due to a fault but there now seems to be light at the end of the tunnel.
Tenders to replace the tiles in the pool have been reviewed by the Architect and he has recommended a contractor to carry out the work.
Following discussions on Monday with the County Manager Cllr Hanafin confirmed that the Architect has been instructed to proceed with appointing this contractor.
“It is expected that he should be on site in the coming weeks. I’m looking forward to having our pool open again,”Cllr hanafin told The Tipperary Star.
Cllr Doran added, “ This is good news becuas ethis has been dragging on for far too long. Hopefully now the work can proceed and we will have the pool back available to all who use it on a regular basis,” he said.
