Thurles Drama Groups upcoming production of the play version of Blood Brothers by Willy Russell will open on Monday November 10th in The Source.

The opening night will be a benefit night for the Thurles Lions Club Special Housing Project. The group are delighted to be working with the Lions Club once again to raise funds for their excellent and ongoing work in supporting people in the community.

The housing project is originally the brainchild of Matthew Bourke, a former member of the Drama Group who died in 2003.

Matthew was a builder by profession and very keen to use his skills to benefit those in need through the Special Housing Project. He also provided a huge amount of his time and skills to building and developing the first house for this project which was opened in his name a few years ago.

As a result the drama group have a special reason to support this project and are looking forward to working with the Lions Club to raise much needed funds.

Anyone interested in supporting this event in any way they can please contact Eamon Medley in the Lions Club.

Tickets will be on sale shortly for the opening night (November 10th) which includes a cheese and wine reception at 7 15pm and can be purchased from Eamon Medley and his committee or any member of Thurles Drama Group.
