Felicitations - On the occasion of his recent marriage in the Abbey, Conor Doyle, Glenbane to Maria Keogh, Silvermines are both wished every happiness, good health, good luck, contentment and many years of wedded bliss. Conor and Maria are both in the teaching profession.

Sowing & Planting - Thurles G.I.Y. next meeting on this Thursday night, April 14th in Cabragh Wetlands commencing at 7.30 p.m. Horticulturist Marian Clark will speak on the sowing of seeds and planting out. This will be a most informative topic for anyone interested in gardening.

Sympathy - Sympathy is extended to Michael Coffey, Moycarkey (Our Fás worker) on the death of his mother Margaret Coffey, Roscrea and to Finbar Shelly, Glenreigh on the death of his aunt Dorothea Leech, Dublin.

Lenten Appeal - You are kindly asked to bring along to the Abbey at the weekend, toothbrush and toothpaste as your final items towards the 2011 Lenten Appeal. The appeal concludes on this Sunday. However you may have missed some items over the period of collection and still would like to contribute, bring them along this weekend and they will be most gratefully received. The organisers are most appreciative of your generosity with your “giving” over the Lenten period, so many poor people will benefit from the food you have given. The trucks will convey the items for our Albanian Missions. To all many, many thanks.

Lovers at Versailles - The local Holycross - Ballycahill Drama Group are staging their award winning play in the Community Hall here on Sunday night, April 17th. So many people were disappointed during the Festival when they were unable to see it, so now you have your opportunity. The play commences at 8.30 p.m. You are assured of a great night’s entertainment together with raffle and excellent prizes to be had. Your support will be much appreciated so do come along.
