Thurles Musical Society will stage the Republic of Ireland premiere of Sister Act the Musical in The Premier Hall, Thurles from Tuesday March 25th - Saturday 29th in association with the Anner Hotel.
This fantastically up-beat show with it’s all-singing, all-dancing repertoire is eagerly awaited in The Premier County and following on from the wonderfully successful Titanic last year, TMS are hoping to wow audiences in a different manner with Sister Act.
Award winning and renowned Director Tony Finnegan is back at the helm with the Society while Choreographer Debbie Kiernan also renews acquaintenaces with the Thurles company, who have local lady Mary Rose McNally as Musical Director/Conductor.
The show follows the same story line as the hit film which featured Whoopi Goldberg and taking up the leading role will be the very experienced Linda Ryan as Deloris van Cartier. There are other prominent roles for well known Maria McElgunn as Mother Superior, Cathal O’Donoghue as Monsignor O’Hara, Cathy Keane as Sister Mary Robert, Barry Derby, Jonathan Gleeson, Olwyn Grogan, Nina Scott, Ber Ryan, Mary Callanan, Michelle O’Connell, Fiona Delaney, John Butler, Peter Donnelly, John Hayes and many more.
The cast and chorus have been working hard to ensure that they are ready for the opening night - a charity night for Thurles Rotary Clubs Thurles Care Group charity. Proceeds on the night will go towards the Care Group and Thurles Musical Society is thrilled to be associated with such a worthwhile cause, considering the magnificent work undertaken in the community by the Group.
