The Nenagh to Thurles road at Currabaha Cross, Fantane, has reopened after it was blocked by a car that went on fire at around 9am this Thursday.
It is understood an elderly woman was driving towards Borrisoleigh when her car burst into flames. The woman managed to drive on to the verge and escape uninjured before the fire took hold. It is believed that the fire was caused by a mechanical fault.
The road was closed for over an hour as diversions were put in place while Templemore fire service dealt with the incident.
