The cost of putting speed ramps in a cul de sac at Knockalton was questioned by council officials at this Monday’s Nenagh / Borrisokane area meeting.
Cllr Seamus Morris, who had called for the ramps to be installed, had asked for an update on the situation.
He was told by area engineer Peter Fee that the cost would be E10,000. Mr Fee said that the council had looked at whether there was space for ramps as at least three would be needed. Anything less would be “tokenism”.
He said the space was adequate, but asked if it was something the council should do given the cost.
Area manager Marcus O’Connor agreed, but Cllr Morris maintained there was a demand for ramps and he proposed installing them.
