This coming Saturday (Nov 2nd) Foley’s Bar in Cashel will host a Breeders Cup Benefit Night in aid of the Injured Jockeys Fund and the Riley ROCKS fund.

The charity fundraiser will kick off at 8pm and is run in conjunction with the running of the Breeders Cup race meeting in America. The funds will be divided equally between the Injured Jockeys Fund (set up to provide assistance to riders who suffer paralysis) and for Riley Fessenden, a 6yr-old girl recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Former Jump Jockey legend Ken Whelan will be the MC for the evening and he will be joined by a host of jockeys (including Champion Jump Jockey Davy Russell), former Munster and Ireland Rugby star Denis Leamy together with a number of other sporting personalities from the sporting arena.

Music will be provided by the popular Eugene O’Grady and PJ Mooney has also kindly offered to do a sponsored shave on the night. There will be auction races and the organising committee would like to thank all the local businesses who have donated Spot Prizes and also to Aiden and Joseph O’Brien who have donated a signed framed print of Camelot.

Tickets are still available from Foleys Bar priced at €10 which is great value for what promises to be a fantastic evening. Get along if you can and don’t miss the craic. One great night – two great causes
