Cllr Martin Browne (SF) has called on the Government to stop their practise of kite flying in the run up to October’s budget.
He called for an end to the practice stating: “It is causing severe distress to the majority of householders who are struggling to make end’s meet. A recent example was the report that the old age pension was to be cut. This was let hang in the media for a number of days before the Government made a statement denying that the core pension payment would be touched. This comes in the same week as reports that households will be hit with bills as high a €300 per annum water charges and gas prices are also about to rise.”
