Deputy Seamus Healy is hosting a public meeting on the Family Home/Property Tax on Wednesday 10th April at 8pm in Hayes Hotel, Thurles.
The meeting will give information on the detail of this unfair and unjust tax. It is an opportunity to find out exactly how the tax will work and how it will affect you and your family and it will explore ways in which the tax can be challenged.
Deputy Healy believes that it is morally wrong, unjust and unfair to tax a person’s family home. This legislation was bulldozed through the Dáil before Christmas and gives the Revenue Commissioners draconian power’s to collect the tax. The tax is regressive and targets low and middle income families and should be scrapped. Deputy Healy is inviting the Public to come along to this meeting and have your say.
