North Tipperary has one of the highest ratios of older people to working age people in the state. Improvements in how we live, what we eat and medical advances mean we are living longer than ever. So North Tipp must be a great place to enjoy older age, and this is something we should all celebrate.

Thurles will be celebrating Positive Aging from Monday October 1st to Friday October 5th. Local group Successful Aging Thurles have organised a number of exciting events for older people during the week. This is the third consecutive year that events have been put on during Positive Aging Week. Events planned include a pamper day, art class, a celebration day with music following a Mass for older people and a trip to the Croke Park GAA Museum in Dublin. See this weeks Tipperary Star for full story.
