The Ballynonty Garden of Remembrance was officially opened a couple of weeks ago after a massive community effort over the previous nine weeks.
In that period a quarter of an acre of waste land was transformed from a local eye sore into something special. The garden commemorates the memory of the many people, from the general area, who lost their lives in road traffic accidents over a period spanning over eighty years (1927 to 2011), plaques, with photographs of these people, forming the centrepiece of the garden.
