Nenagh man Donal Maher of the children’s charity, Plan Ireland, has appealed to locals to support children in the developing world this Christmas.

This year’s Christmas Appeal, launched by former Ireland rugby player and Plan Ireland ambassador Malcolm O’Kelly, includes a Life Gifts Catalogue, unique Christmas cards designed by sponsors and, for the first time ever, a unique range of photographic canvas prints, all of which will help to raise funds to make a lasting improvement to the lives of the world’s most disadvantaged children.

“These gifts will give much needed support and materials directly to the children and communities Plan Ireland works with in the developing world. By choosing a Life Gift like All Set for School or The Gift of Child Sponsorship, you are giving a child living in poverty the chance of a better life and a gift like this is essentially priceless.” said Nenagh Mr Maher, who has worked for the charity as financial controller since 2006,” said Mr Maher.
