The Late Bridget Ryan - The death took place at St. Teresa’s Nursing Home, Thurles of Bridget Ryan (nee Carey), Glenreigh on February 4th in her 93rd year. Bridget was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1980 and also by her son Roger. Bridget and her late husband Bill were esteemed members of the farming community. Bill was also a Postman. They reared a family of nine children, four boys and five girls. Bridget reposed at her residence on Saturday evening. Removal took place on Sunday to St. Joseph’s Church for Requiem Mass at noon which was concelebrated by Fr. Dan Woods P.P., Kilcommon; Fr. Francis McCarthy C.C. Moyglass and Fr. Egan P.P. Clonoulty/Rossmore. Readings and prayers of the faithful were read by Bridget’s grandchildren. Burial took place in Upperchurch Cemetery. After Mass a very moving tribute to Bridget was read by her grand-daughter Aisling Ryan. We tender our sympathy to her sons, daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, relatives and her friends. May she rest in peace. Month’s Mind mass will be celebrated on Sunday, March 6th at 11 a.m.

The Late Catherine Power - The death occurred on February 7th at her residence of Catherine (Kitty) Power (nee Ryan R), Greenane, Tipperary and formerly of Gurth, Hollyford in her 95th year. We tender our sympathy to her sons, daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, son-in-law, daughter-in-law and other relatives. Kitty was predeceased by her husband Dan, daughter Mary McCormack, sisters Mary Ryan (R) and Bridget Ryan. Her daughter Anne is the Station Manager of Tipperary Mid West Radio. May she rest in peace.

Hunt Visit - Members of the Suir Vale Harriers Hunt visited Hollyford on Sunday. Hunting conditions were hampered by the state of the land following the heavy rainfall during the past week.

Recent Death - We tender sympathy to Catherine O’Dwyer, Gurth Cross on the death of her mother Mel McMahon, Kilcommon P.O. R.I.P.
