Anniversary Masses - Saturday evenings appear to be the most popular for these Masses, and sometimes several people are looking for the same Saturday. Month’s Mind Masses and First Anniversaries will have priority over other bookings. Sometimes it is necessary to have shared Masses. We urge people, who have several anniversary Masses in the year, to consider having one family Mass in which all are included. Many parishs have a good proportion of anniversary Masses on weekdays. There were 35 deaths in the parish last year. To allow space for their anniversaries and for those who died in recent years, consider having just a ‘prayer remembrance’ for those who died many years ago or have a weekday Mass for them.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade - The 15th annual parade will take place on Thursday, 17th March at 11 a.m. After a hard Winter and still facing many economic and social problems our hope is that this village and parish festival will bring hope and renewed energy to all involved. We appeal to all local organisations, schools, families, our business and farming communities to continue with their presence and support. Meetings open to all will be held in the Muintir na Tire Hall on Mondays at 8 p.m. Suggestions or offers of help to any of the following committee members. J.J. O’Sullivan, Pat Houlihan, Sean Ryan, Anne Strapp, Mary Leahy, Martin O’Dwyer, Matt Purcell or Mary O’Gorman.
