This commitment lies at the heart of our mission statement whereby we seek to foster the development of students within a supportive and challenging environment, to promote equity in society and to provide an environment where all have freedom and opportunity to achieve their full potential. We welcome the diversity which mature students bring to the College community in terms of background, educational attainment, employment history and motivation to study.” He attributes the College’s success in recruiting mature students to its suite of adult education access programmes, its provision of alternative access routes to third level education, as well as to the support systems tailored to mature students at MIC.
