‘Very good’ achievement at St Joseph’s, Ballingarry

A Whole School Evaluation (WSE) of St. Joseph’s National School in Ballingarry Thurles has found that there is “very good” overall achievement by pupils.

A Whole School Evaluation (WSE) of St. Joseph’s National School in Ballingarry Thurles has found that there is “very good” overall achievement by pupils.

A WSE was carried out on the co-educational primary school on March 20th. The results were published on June 25th. St Joseph’s staff include three mainstream class teachers, a shared learning support-teacher, who is based in the school, and a shared resource teacher. There are currently 79 pupils enrolled and attendance levels are “very good”, notes the Inspector. The school has strengths in the following areas: “The overall learning achievements of pupils, including those with additional learningneeds, are very good. Teaching is of a high standard throughout the school.The quality of support for pupils’ well-being is very good. School management and teachers promote and encourage good quality relationships with parents and with the wider community.”
