At Monday evening’s meeting of Roscrea Chamber Of Commerce, Brian King (Chamber Secretary) gave an update on the proposed Business Watch Scheme which the local Gardaí are trying very hard to establish in Roscrea.

Brian complimented the work of Garda Michelle Murphy in particular and said she has successfully implemented this scheme in other locations so it is important that Roscrea capitalise on Garda Murphy’s skills when the opportunity has been presented to us. The Chamber Secretary has now called on all local businesses to get behind this initiative. A meeting will take place in the conference room of the local Garda Station on Tuesday, July 14th at 6.15pm to discuss this initiative further. If this meeting is not supported the Chamber Secretary said the initiative will not be pursued any further which would be a great shame. If we get at least 50 businesses to attend then we will be able to pursue the Scheme further. In the expectation that the Business Community of Roscrea will not be found wanting, a seminar has been provisionally booked for October 16th 2015 to officially launch the “Business Watch Scheme” in Roscrea. The seminar will be attended by local Gardaí, members of the Garda Crime Prevention Officer and the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation. In addition a lot of security companies will be in attendance to showcase their products and services.
