Traditionally, December 8 marks the start of the shopping spree, but with many people shopping early, especially for presents, thieves have been targeting cars in the car parks of shopping centres around the county. A spokesman for the Gardai in Nenagh told the Tipperary Star that there have been a number of incidents in North Tipperary towns, including Roscrea and Nenagh, where shoppers have loaded up their cars and returned their shopping trolleys to the shop only to find that their car has been broken into and all the items stolen on their return.
