Tipperary TD Noel Coonan has welcomed as progress the fact that National Driving Licence applications which are fully in order are being processed in or under 12 days.
Deputy Coonan received an update from his colleague Minister Leo Varadkar in respect of developments at the National Driving Licence Service.
“The Road Safety Authority has statutory responsibility for the operation of the National Driver Licensing Service. Applications are being processed in or under 12 days. Cases where the application is not fully in order, and further documentation and / or contact with the applicant is required, take longer.
“The RSA has advised Minister Varadkar that it is on course to have a 10-day turnaround by the end of February, and a five-to eight-day turnaround by the end of March,” said Deputy Coonan.
