Man dies in tragic motorway crash on Christmas Eve - passenger injured

Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a single vehicle fatal collision near Cahir on Christmas Eve. The incident occurred shortly after 4pm on the M8 motorway, (northbound) near Junction 7 Cahir, when a car left the motorway before colliding with a ditch. The driver of the car, a man aged in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene. A male passenger aged in his 20s was taken by Ambulance to Clonmel Hospital (his injuries are not thought to be life threatening).
