There’s been widespread criticism of the Government’s plans to abolish Tipperary’s 7 town councils following Environment Minister Phil Hogan’s comments yesterday.

Minister Phil Hogan published the legislation for the reform of local government yesterday which will see the number of local Councillors almost halved across the country. North and South Tipp County Councils will become one Tipperary Council with 40 seats spanning from Carrick on Suir to Lorrha, Gortnahoe to LImerick junction.
