North Tipperary Sports Partnership and South Tipperary Sports Partnership have joined forces for the fourth year now in organising this exciting Women’s 10k event and this year it returns to Clonmel.

Following on from the success of last year’s event in Thurles with over 1200 ladies registering for the race in Thurles in 2012, this year’s event will take place on Sunday 29th September at 11am in Clonmel.

This year we are delighted to have the 2013 Dublin Flora Women’s Mini Marathon winner and fellow Tipperary girl Siobhan Doherty officially starting the race and lead off the pack.

The official route and registration details as well as all race information can be found on the event website: www.tippminimarathon.ie Elaine Cullinan, Co-ordinator, North Tipperary Sports Partnership commented: “This event is open to ALL runners, walkers and joggers. We want to encourage as many women as possible to come out and have fun on the day. You can download training programmes for walking and running the event from the website above, and information on all the Meet and Train groups in the county are also listed on the website. Every participant will be chip timed so all runners and walkers will get an accurate time and the event is AAI measured and certified. The event this year also coincides with Positive Aging Week, so why not take on running or walking the ‘2013 Tipp Mini Marathon’ as your challenge to get involved with Positive Aging Week’.

Valerie Connolly, Co-ordinator, South Tipperary Sports Partnership added: “Once again we are delighted to part of this women-in-sport initiative in Tipperary as it is a great opportunity for women of all ages to get active and take part in our own County Mini Marathon. All finishers will receive a race medallion and goody bag. There will also be spot prizes on the day. The event also provides a great opportunity for participants to raise funds for their own local charities. A charitable donation of J200 to the charity of your choice will be made to the largest group to register this year, so get your groups together and get registering”.
