Cappawhite Priest Cleared of Allegations

A CAPPAWHITE Parish Priest returned to his duties on Saturday evening with an unblemished record, after a complaint of abuse made against him was investigated and dismissed.

A CAPPAWHITE Parish Priest returned to his duties on Saturday evening with an unblemished record, after a complaint of abuse made against him was investigated and dismissed.

Fr Tadhg Furlong (62) returns to his Ministry in the Parish of Cappawhite with the full support of his local superior, Archbishop Dermot Clifford. A statement issued on behalf of Archbishop Dermot Clifford stated that he concelebrated Mass with Fr Furlong at the Church of Our Lady of Fatima, Cappawhite, on Saturday evening, after Fr Furlong’s name was cleared.

“I am delighted to be here today to welcome Fr Tadgh Furlong back to Ministry in the Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly,” Archbishop Clifford told Parishioners. “Together, with you, I welcome Fr Tadgh back to the full Priestly Ministry in which he served you, the people of the Parish of Cappawhite, and the Archdiocese, with dedication and commitment as a priest for almost 36 years. I welcome back Fr Tadgh with an unblemished character.”
