New Uses For Courthouses

NORTH Tipperary County Council has moved swiftly to find new uses for the now closed Templemore and Roscrea courthouses.

NORTH Tipperary County Council has moved swiftly to find new uses for the now closed Templemore and Roscrea courthouses.

The courthouses closed in December after the Courts Service decided to amalgamate the local District Court with Thurles District Court and Nenagh District Court.

At this Monday’s meeting of Templemore Town Council, town clerk Tom McGrath said that the county council was now looking for expressions of interest from clubs and organisations in Templemore about possible uses for the vacnat building. Mr McGrath revealed that the deadline for making applications is Friday, February 24.

The council is to place adverts in the Tipperary Star outlining the criteria needed to make an application or groups can log on to www.northtippcoco.ie for details.
