Three Tipperary students will be awarded a JP McManus All Ireland Scholarship toward their third level education on this coming Saturday. The awards ceremony will take place at University of Limerick where An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny T.D will present the awards.

Three Tipperary students will be awarded a JP McManus All Ireland Scholarship toward their third level education on this coming Saturday. The awards ceremony will take place at University of Limerick where An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny T.D will present the awards.

This is the fourth year for the Scholarships, which are sponsored by JP McManus. A total of 125 students from both North and South of Ireland will be presented with a third level scholarship certificate. The scheme is set to provide financial assistance to many high achieving students who completed their Leaving Certificate. in 2011.

JP McManus has contributed €32 million to fund the provision of these scholarships each year and it is estimated that over 1,300 students from the 32 counties will benefit from the scheme over its duration. The awards are administered by the Department of Education & Skills.

The Tipperary students are, Sean Kennedy from Ardscoil mBraithre, Clonmel who will study in the Royal College of Surgeons; Marie McManus of John the Baptist Community School who goes to UCC and James Bergin St. Joseph’s College who goes to UCD.
