Independent Presidential candidate, Seán Gallagher continued his listening tour of the country with a visit to Tipperary on Wednesday 31st August.
He started his day with a visit to the Thurles Chamber of Commerce and had the following to say: “It was great to meet representatives of local businesses and see them come together to network and share their experiences. This support can help to expand and consolidate their enterprises. I know from meeting this group and others that survival is the new success. Yet because these are the small businesses that create the jobs which are the glue that holds communities together their survival is vital.”
Later in the day, Mr Gallagher went on to Tipperary Town where he visited Tipperary Centre for Independent Living, Moore Haven Rehabilitative Centre and Tipperary Town Chamber of Commerce.
“Over the course of my listening tour, I have seen many examples of the efforts of individuals and communities unite and work together to create a fair and open society where all people have equality of opportunity and participation. This is the inspirational and positive message I would like to share with the rest of the country if elected President. I firmly believe that the people I met in Tipperary and Thurles can act as an inspiration to others. Everyone has their part to play in sustaining their community and rebuilding the country,” concluded Seán Gallagher.
