As another school year ends we wish to thank the parents and community for their support and good will.
We had a very active year, all classrooms have interactive whiteboards which enriches the learning environment for the children.
Extra curricular activities enjoyed by the children included G.A.A. football and hurling, tag rugby, soccer, tennis, modern dance, Irish dancing, skipping workshop, drumming circle, pottery, draughts, league, swimming and quiz.
We were delighted to receive our fourth Green Flag for sustainable transport and travel and we begin work on our Bio-diversity project in September. On Friday 24th June Eoin Kelly raised the Green Flag, we enjoyed the day and we hope to see him raise many green flags on the hurling field.
Our Christmas concert was a great success and very enjoyable. The celebration of the sacraments was a very special highlight in our school year. We wish all the children will remember their very special day. Again we thank all those who helped with refreshments and transport.
School Tour: On 17th June we went on our school tour. The Junior tour went to Turoe Farm in Loughrea while the Senior tour travelled to Dublin and visited Croke Park and Fort Lucan. Despite the rainfall in Dublin we enjoyed our day.Sports Day:The weather may have tried to hamper our day but our enthusiasm won out and on 22nd June we had a very fun filled day.
Hello & Goodbye: We welcome on new entrants and we bid a sad farewell to our sixth class. We wish them every success in secondary school.
We look forward to another great year in 2011/2012 and we know with the support and co-operation of parents, teachers, children and wider community, we will echo the famous words of US President Obama “Is Féidir Linn”.
During the year we raised €556 for Trocáire, our Skip for School raised over €2,660 for our school. This money will go forward to provision of activities for next year.
