G.A.A. - Intermediate Hurling, on Saturday evening last in Clonakenny Silvermines were the visitors for the third game of the County Intermediate Hurling League. After losing their previous game to Newport this was a must win game for Clonakenny to stay in contention. Some loose play from Clonakenny in the first half led to the concession of some easy scores and left them behind at half time on a scoreline of Silvermines 1-11 Clonakenny 0-12. Clonakenny upped their game big time in the second half and with a display of spirit and determination went on to win on a scoreline of Clonakenny 1-19 Silvermines 1-15. This was easily Clonakenny’s best display of the year and will need more of the same against Drom and Inch in the final game if they are to qualify for the final stages. The game against Drom and Inch will take place in the Ragg on Friday April 29th.

U/21 Hurling - Clonakenny travelled to Littleton on Friday evening last to play the preliminary round of the County U/21 ‘C’ Hurling Championship only to find the opposition did not appear claiming that the game was fixed for Saturday night and not Friday night. This was the second time that this game was fixed and not played. This is not good enough with players preparing for exams and cancelling work only to find out there is no game. Players and parents were very annoyed at this. The County CCC are meeting to decide the outcome of this. We may have a game this weekend, players will be notified.

Dublin Tournament - On this Saturday Clonakenny Intermediates will travel to Kevin’s Hurling Club in Dublin to play in their Annual Easter Tournament.
