Easter Time - Easter always bring a feeling of hope and joy in various ways and for various reasons. Apart from the religious aspect and the extra pip we get from the celebrations and ceremonies our thoughts turn to brighter days of Spring and Summer with great expectations of things to come. This year Easter has by-passed the Spring it being so late. Officially it is defined by being on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring equinox. As we enter Holy week we wish a holy and happy Easter and preparation time to all.
Exam Time - Its examination time almost once more for hundreds of students. Once Easter is over it’s only a few weeks to go to the real thing since the orals are already over, as well as some of the third level grade. We can only urge our students to do their best in spite of all the gloom and doom being “put upon” them. We wish them well.
Pilgrimage Time - Time is almost up to join Our Lady’s Pilgrimage to Knock on May 24th, 25th. If you still want to book or enquire, phone (062) 71367, 71448, 76191 or (0504) 42936. Also a reminder the Lourdes Pilgrimage is from June 16th to 21st. Safe travelling to all.
First Holy Communion - Preparations are ongoing with the children for First Holy Communion in Knockavilla and Donaskeigh in May, soon after Easter.
Sympathy - Deepest sympathy is extended to the wife and family of Patrick Kelly, Ballinahinch who passed away unexpectedly two weeks ago. A well known member of the farming family his passing is regretted. He was laid to rest in the New Cemetery, Knockavilla after Requiem Mass in Knockavilla Church at 11.30 a.m. on Monday, April 11th. May he rest in peace.
