A key emphasis of this year’s Terryglass Arts Festival is the “greening” of the five-day event with a focus on waste minimisation, reuse and recycling.

“We have been working with the Terryglass Improvements Association and have placed a high priority on environmental factors when organising the festival programme,” said festival chair Emma Pearce. “We have a number of ticketless events, where attendees simply pay at the door. In addition online booking is available and we will accept e-tickets purchased online,” she said.

The committee has also endeavoured to reuse much of the signage and decorations from previous years and has also programmed a number of workshops with a green theme. These include green furniture and sign design, clockmaking, and workshops provided by Community Reuse Network Ireland as part of their Revival Roadshow.

A recycling station will be located in the Village Square along with an information point on responsible waste management in the village during the festival.
