A prominent Independent Tipperary Councillor and former member of the Progressive Democrats has invited Lucinda Creighton to speak in Tipperary.
Cllr Richie Molloy has said he would give his tentative blessing to Deputy Creighton’s new movement ‘Reboot Ireland’, and has invited her to speak in Tipperary in the next month. Cllr Molloy - well known for his association with Tipperary’s home carers - has said Deputy Creighton’s emphasis on helping small businesses and cutting red tape chimes with his own political instincts.
He told the Tipperary Star he would consider joining the new party, if it allowed members to speak their mind on important matters of conscience. Cllr Molloy attended the Dublin meeting of Reboot Ireland, a possible forerunner for a new political party this Spring. “She’s going to do a series of public meetings around the country to gauge opinion,” said Cllr Molloy. “I found with the whip system in other parties, that the whip is so strict that you’re only part of a voting machine really.” Cllr Molloy said he didn’t think Reboot Ireland was either far right or far left on the political spectrum.
