A Littleton family intimidated out of their home in Derrynaflan estate on Halloween night, have still not returned home out of fear of the gang which burned trees near their home.

A source close to the family told the Tipperary Star that the gang used foul and abusive language on Facebook to describe how they would throw eggs at the family’s house. “By the end of the night we’ll have them burnt out of the village,” was one comment.

The comments have since been taken down but the family remain devastated. Another family in the area were previously forced to leave, after eggs, batteries, and bangers were thrown at their windows.

The son of the family in this latest incident risked life and limb dodging the flames to help his family to safety.

Thurles Gardaí have comforted the family and an investigation is ongoing.

“They have been made homeless,” says the family friend. “They have lived there for 40 years. It’s an exceptional case.” The family friend says it will take years for the mental scars to heal.
