There were no walks on Sunday but members were busy with other things.
Some attended the popular festival in Upperchurch, famous for the food as well as the walking. Others helped with the last day of the Mountain Meitheal work on the Saunders Lodge track on the way to Lake Curra while eight members took part in a navigation course in Mitchelstown and the Knockmealdowns. A big thanks to Maureen O’Brien for her friendly and professional instruction in map reading and the use of the compass. The practical work took place on the wet and foggy Knockmealdowns, ideal for the purpose of limited visibility navigation. Looking ahead, all members are encouraged to attend a CPR and basic First Aid session in the Excel Centre at 8pm this Thursday, Nov 14. On Sunday, Nov 17, the A group will meet with Paul Ryan at Clydagh Bridge at 10am. The B walk crosses the Knockmealdowns to Mellary, meeting with leader Mossie Casey at 10am at Bay Lough car park.
