South Tipp ICA - Crime Prevention Advice

Mr. Peter Butler of ‘Task Care’ was guest speaker, at South Tipperary ICA’s Winter Federation Meeting held recently in The Park Hotel, Clonmel. Peter gave the members details of how to protect ourselves and our homes. Most break-ins are when houses are unoccupied. Peter encouraged the members to always leave a light on at night and a radio on during the day and not to allow a stranger in your home without identification.
Most break-ins use no force. Owners may be distracted at the front door while another person goes in the back door. Keep doors locked even if only going next door. Beware of bogus callers. If anything is suspicious call Gardai’ Peter also gave us information on the use of Panic buttons, and carbon monoxide monitored detectors.
