Mount Sion Garden Fete
All roads lead to Mount Sion Community Residence in Tipperary Town for their Annual Garden Fete, which takes place this Sunday July 15th from 2-5pm. It promises to be another great event with fun for all the family. The CJ Kickham Band will be there to get proceedings underway and there will be music and song throughout the afternoon from Pat & Fran Marnane and a special guest appearance from the Tipperary Gospel Choir. There will be the usual sideshows and attractions, children’s entertainment and the ever popular ‘Wheel of Fortune’.
In celebration of the centenary of the song “It’s a long way to Tipperary”, there will be a special Fancy Dress competition on the day which is open to both children and adults alike. People are invited to participate in the Fancy Dress along the theme of the song and it’s 100th Anniversary. We hope that many people will arrive in vintage attire on the day. Prizes will be awarded for best child and adult and best overall. There will be some signed jerseys for raffle on the day including one signed by the Republic of Ireland Soccer Team. It will be the first official function for the new ‘Pride of Tipperary’, who will be crowned the previous evening, so lets hope that the sun shines on Mount Sion and that it is another great day there. Proceeds from the event will be used to assist in providing for the living and social needs of the residents. If you have any unused items or unwanted gifts then please donate them to Mount Sion for the Fete. No clothing accepted. Please ensure that the items you wish to donate are new or almost new. Books, plants and shrubs, home and garden produce will be accepted. Drop in the items to Mount Sion before Sunday.
