Once again it’s all good news here at the Sacred Heart N.S. We got the great news that we were awarded our fourth Green Flag on Travel.

On May 23rd the flag will be presented in Athlone, well done to everyone for all their hard work, especially Mrs Kelly and her Green School’s Committee. We will hoist the flag at the school on June 8th when we celebrate the 50th anniversary of our current school building.

Congratulations to Oisin Gillespie in Miss Considine’s class who was highly commended for his anti-litter logo. Oisin’s entry in the anti-litter logo competition run by the Environmental Department of North Tipperary County Council is on display in the Civic Offices in Nenagh.

Keeping with things artistic Rachel Byrne in Mr McGrath’s class earned a Certificate of Commendation in the 58th Texaco Children’s Art Competition, well done Rachel!

An information meeting for parents regarding the proposed second walking bus will take place on Thursday May 10th at 1.15pm. It is proposed that this bus will come from Kennedy Park, Rosslands, Rossmore and Carraig. Ellen O’Sullivan, Travel Officer with An Taisce and our Green School Committee will be there!

Congratulations to Stephen Carey who played during half time at the Cork vs Tipperary match in Semple Stadium recently. We are also pleased to announce that Ciara Monahan and Chloe Landy are representing the school in the Primary Game Camogie Trials at the moment. Best of luck girls.
