Sunday was bright and dry but strong winds favoured the low level woodland walks of the B and C groups.
The Ballydavid woods provided a welcome, verdant shelter for Una Phelan’s trek of 21 (C) walkers to the mast. This was a moderately paced, spirited walk with frequent mini pauses, much chat and lovely clear views from on high of North Tipperary, Doon and Keeper Hill. This was a practice run for Una who will lead a walk here in June for the Aherlow festival. Much appreciated by all.
Rita Mooney led a group of 16 (B) walkers on a round of Slievenamuk Ridge. Starting at Aherlow House, they travelled east, through the characteristic flowering gorse of the ridge, to Bansha Woods. Here they circled back via the four roads to Christ the King, where they entered the lovely Nature Park to make their return to the hotel. Rita would like to thank Vincent and Helen for the photo shoot and Danny for his role as co leader. Mile maith agat, Rita.
