The Junior Minister for Public Transport, Alan Kelly, has confirmed to the Tipperary Star that the new amalgamated County Tipperary VEC headquarters will be in Nenagh, with a sub-office in Clonmel.

The VECs in North and South Tipperary were joined under the Government’s review programme.

Deputy Kelly said that he had spoken to the Minister for Education, Ruairi Quinn, on numerous occasions about locating the HQ in Nenagh.

“I believe this dual solution is the best one for such a disparate, large and wide county such as Tipperary. It is by no means unique in Ireland, but I am delighted that Minister Quinn acquiesced to my appeals. I am delighted for the staff in Nenagh and Clonmel who have been worried over the relocation. It will give the staff in Clonmel a chance to relocate or maybe stay in Clonmel,” he said.
