Rathdowney

Motor Racing - On Sunday, February 27th the Birr and District Motor Club took place in the Rathdowney and Cullohill area. Many roads were closed from 8.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Everyone was well aware of this so there was no problem. The weather was ideal and a very large number of people turned out to watch the cars. On Saturday, February 26th all the cars taking part in the rally were on view at Oliver Stanley’s garage. It was a most successful rally with all proceeds going to the Laoise Branch of the Alzheimer’s Association. Everyone was very generous and very grateful for the rally going to such a worthy cause.
