Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré has been highly active this Autumn and Christmas Season.
Transition Year Musical
Rehearsals for our transition year musical 'The Wizard of Oz' are now in full swing. This year our TY's are leading us down ‘The Yellow Brick Road’, with the Tinman, the Lion and the Scarecrow.
Our journey with Dorothy to the Emerald City promises to be an exciting one! The show will take place on the Wednesday the 23rd to Friday the 25th of November. Tickets are now on sale and are available to purchase from the school reception.
On the 26thof October Transition Year students and some 5th year students took part in a C.P.R training course. This course was provided by the charity Adam’s Gift. This charity was established by the family of the late Adam McAndrew.
One of the organization’s aims is to provide awareness for cardiac arrest. The students learned how to do C.P.R and how to prevent somebody in a choking situation.
A member of Dublin Fire Brigade and Ambulance Service came to Coláiste Phobal to show the pupils how to deal with these situations. We would like to thank Adam’s mother Kerry and her team for providing us with this training. The students feel they have benefited greatly from this.
On the 20th and the 21st of October our Transition Year students helped the organization Aware, by fundraising for them around Roscrea.
Some students helped in bag packing in Tesco while others did street collections. There was great generosity given towards the cause. Our transition years helped raise over €1000 We would like to thank anyone who gave money towards helping Aware. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
