Gardai seize €390 worth of cannabis in three towns

The Gardai made three separate seizures of cannabis in North Tipperary over the past week.

The single highest amount was discovered in Roscrea on Saturday when €350 worth of cannabis was seized in the Railway View area of the town.

A further €30 worth of cannabis was seized at Main Street, Cloughjordan at around 3.30pm last Wednesday.

On the same date in Coille Beithe housing estate off St Conlon's Road, Nenagh, approximately €10 worth of the same drug was seized.

Meanwhile, a total of €610 in cash and cheques was taken in a break-in to a cafe premises on Silver Street, Nenagh, on Monday at around 2.30am. The burglars entry was gained through a front window and and the kitchen and cash register area were ransacked.

Gardaí in Nenagh have appealed for information.

There were also suspected thefts from Tesco on Borrisokane Road, Nenagh and the Centra shop in Clare Street in the town.

The incidents occurred on Tuesday of last week when goods worth €9.20 were allegedly taken by a female at 6.20pm from Centra, while wine worth €6.98 was taken in a separate incident at Tesco at 8.40pm.

In other crime, in Roscrea last Thursday an individual was arrested in Chapel Lane at 8am on suspicion of a breach of public order.
