Clonoulty Rossmore Vintage Rally

Show has raised over €270,000 for Hospice Movement

On Sunday the 21st August Clonoulty Rossmore Vintage Club will hold their Annual Vintage Rally in Clonoulty Village, Cashel, by kind permission of Joe and Helen Hamersley.

This is our 16th Annual Rally. We have raised over €270,000 for the Hospice Movement since our inception; last year we presented €12,000; we have also given €10,000 to other national and local charities. A fun day is guaranteed, all ages are catered for.

We are asking everyone attending to dress up in old style clothing. There will be a prize for the best vintage dressed man (sponsored by Mr. Mister), woman and child on the day.

This special year we are celebrating the anniversary of 1916 and the local school children are all invited to attend and release green, white and gold balloons.

There will be onsite catering and toilet facilities, the usual side shows and stalls (Bric a Brac, bicycle obstacle course, guess the weight of the bullock, bouncy castles, human water ball etc.) Our Cashel Express train will also be on display which is very popular with both young and old. The Donkey Sanctuary Liscarroll will be attending again - the donkeys proved very popular with everyone last year.

The sheaf throwing competition is back by popular demand.

For all you dog enthusiasts there will be a dog show on site hosted by Mo Cara Animal Rescue. Copies of The Wake DVD will be available on the day with many locals in starring roles.

The threshing is always a great favourite with the crowd; John Leamy’s, Dualla Allan Bros 1925 Threshing Mill will be at full throttle powered by Alex Crosse's steam engine. Credit is due to the large number of tractor, car and stationary engine owners who turn up year after year with their fantastic array of makes and models all in gleaming condition.

There will be a selection of Rosegreen hot rod cars; local man Joey Carroll will have his national tarmac championship car and trophy on display.

A focal point on the day will be a number of trade stands all dressed in old style clothes, whom we would like to thank for their support. If you are interested in having a stand please contact us on 087 3522726.

We would like to acknowledge all of your continued support and help, especially with our recent bucket collection without which we wouldn’t be in the position to help the very deserving South Tipperary Hospice Movement.
